CINCINNATI -- Bengals player Adam "Pacman" Jones is getting more time to work on his personal issues before anything happens with the latest criminal case against him.
Hamilton County court records show the date for possible grand jury action has been delayed from Friday until March 23.
Jones has been getting treatment for alcohol and anger issues.
His attorney has said he is getting professional help in the Cincinnati area."He is being treated like anyone else," said Prosecutor Joe Deters, whose delay in proceeding in the case has drawn some local criticism.
A prosecutor said the case began when Jones was pounding on doors at the Millennium Hotel, which is near the Bengals' Paul Brown Stadium.
He then pushed and poked a security guard, officials said.
The Nevada Supreme Court in 2015 upheld lower a civil case decision that he had to pay more than .4 million.
Jones, who played for the Bengals in Sunday's season-ending home victory over Baltimore, has repeatedly had legal issues since making his NFL debut with Tennessee after going to college at West Virginia University.
Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said the club is aware of the incident, but by policy, doesn't comment on unresolved legal matters.
Jones will be subject to potential NFL discipline after the case is resolved.
